We gratefully welcome assistance from all enthusiastic and qualified people, for a variety of volunteer projects in the Kinnaur-Spitti region.  Our volunteer program aims to assist the local Kinnaur-Spiti community in developing education, skills, and sustainable environmental practices.  We support volunteers from a variety of backgrounds, including, but not limited to, health, social work, education, and practical trades.

We encourage volunteers to come to us with their ideas, about what they can offer the Kinnaur-Spitti community, so that we may work on, and develop together, a plan for their stay.  For example, we require teachers to work in the local school, social workers, nurses, or other public health professionals, to promote local health, and trades people to build helpful economic skills.  We also require volunteers with environmental and social justice backgrounds, to assist a number of environmental initiatives, which may help to improve local life, and the preservation of and access to, regional resources.  We also require artistic people, for example photographers, to help bring the focus of our work to the wider public. Basically, if you think you can help, let us know, and we will be pleased to work with you to develop your ideas and apply your skills!

We actively support our volunteers in making this a fantastic and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.  Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience the local Indian, tribal and Tibetan cultures firsthand in one of the most friendly, remote and beautiful regions of the world.  Volunteers, as part of their program donation, will be provided with a coordinator to assist them in fitting in to the community and their local placement, while providing local language help.
It costs about 150 USD to send a child to school for a year in Kinnaur-Spitit region, including books, tuition, uniform, etc.  This year, PEACE is sponsoring four children to attend school.
