It costs about 150 USD to send a child to school for a year in Kinnaur-Spitit region, including books, tuition, uniform, etc.  This year, PEACE is sponsoring four children to attend school.  PEACE aims to eventually assist in building schools in Spiti-Kinnaur, which will serve the local region and help the community to build awareness in our changing world. 

PEACE is working right now on building its volunteer program and funding base.  Up until now, it has existed on community and individual donations.  The volunteer program is a pilot project, which is set to begin operations this April 2008.  We are looking forward to this exciting new challenge and bringing education to marginalized communities.
